Kristjana's highly elaborate and intricate original artwork is truly mind blowing. Layer upon layer of victorian engravings are delicately put together to make these beautiful pieces of art. Some integrated into the base itself and many carefully hand or laser cut, folded and pinned in place by the artist. Look closely and get lost in all the animals and lovely details hidden amongst the flora and fauna.
Each piece is made to order and the over all process can be from 3 - 6 months.
If clients wish, their piece can be customised to the clients realm, adding personalised details such as birthdays, anniversaries, special places, references to knick names, interests or the family's / or company's history. This gives the piece a lovey story and makes it even more precious and interesting.
A private commission process - notes from Kristjana
It is a very private journey. A lot of my clients are not sure if they have enough history, others worry about having too much history - regardless the way the piece grows through the stages is a very, deep personal, collaborative process between me and yourself which is incredibly rewarding. It can be formed around generations back, in to the future or it can just be about the world around you or projected desires. There are a few different styles of my work and most of my private clients have a favourite piece that they feel will work for them.
This is the process in a nutshell
