The story behind the artwork

This captivating three-dimensional tree artwork draws you in to the world of Alice through a canopy of colour. A pair of pink flamingos shelter from the Queen and her bag of croquet mallets in the shade of the boughs, while the human-esque playing card servant lurks on the opposite side of the trunk. The tree is adorned with the scarlet hues of the Queen, her hearts taking the form of tiny butterflies and colouring the flora and fauna within. Tiny caterpillars and magical mushrooms act as a counterpoint to the more threatening 'soldier' cards and executioner's axe hiding in the branches, a coniferous tribute to the universally revered tales of Alice in Wonderland.

Bespoke hand and laser cut paper collage. Digitally designed, hand-sculpted paper elements are painstakingly pinned in place onto a thick foam board, creating a stunning three dimensional effect. Utterly unique in its composition and to its owner, an original artwork is one of its kind and cannot be replicated. Your piece will be the only piece like it, anywhere in the world.
