The story behind the artwork
LOVE & HOPE, two of the world’s most powerful idioms, realised in Kristjana’s stunningly unique circular original 3D pieces. Kristjana first developed this style of artwork during lockdown, harnessing her creative energy and exploring what it means to be human. Each piece is rich in textural detail and includes a combination of vintage and modern embroidery as well as bejewelled elements. Prominent hero animals are set against a diorama base, a captivating tableau which Kristjana promises will take you on your own individual journey.
An incredible illusion of depth carries HOPE right into the centre of this piece; humankind’s precious anticipation and confident expectation, its potency carried along by the strong animals depicted within. A pair of big cats exhibit hope in their ferocity, a contrast to the pensive, inward looking camel. Golden fish circle overhead, propelling a wave of thoughts through the head before they crystallise and are carried off by leaping winged tigers. An energetic and creative contemplation of HOPE, on of our most cherished emotions.

Bespoke Hand and laser cut paper collage. Digitally designed, hand sculpted paper elements are painstakingly pinned in place onto a thick foam board, creating a stunning three dimensional effect. Utterly unique in its composition and to its owner, an original artwork is one of its kind and cannot be replicated. Your piece will be the only piece like it, anywhere in the world.
