Hjartar Tre Original is a highly elaborate and intricate three dimentional artwork, inspired by William Morris. Layer upon layer of victorian engravings are delicately put together to make this beautiful piece. Some integrated into the tree itself and many laser cut or carefully hand cut, folded and pinned in place by the artist. In her own fantastic way, Kristjana has inhabited the tree with fantastical animals and insects and the colourful flora and fauna references the title of the piece which translates from Icelandic / English Stag Tree.
Framed dimensions of the piece shown is: 108 cm x 85 cm x 13 cm. This is an A1 size but Tree pieces can be made in bigger sizes.
Hand and laser cut paper collage. Digitally designed, hand sculpted paper elements are pinned in place to create a stunning three dimensional effect.
Kristjana's Original pieces come in a deep plain box frame or a bespoke hand routed circular frames, which can be painted in any colour the client wishes. Kristjana uses perspex glass for the framing of her original work, due to the lightness of the material and durability.
