Drawing upon many months of personal exploration and research, as well as her work for the V&A Museum in London, Kristjana explored the distortion, mutation, and sometimes complete transformation of the familiar, creating fantastical tableaux inspired by the surrealism of Salvador Dalí and Dorothea Tanning.

The design of the Ode to Arts Collection was a long thought out and fascinating process for Kristjana, where research about the artists she is celebrating has taken her from initial hand sketches to modern digital images to traditional engravings discovered in antiquarian books.
