AUDIO EXPERIENCE AT SHANGHAI DESIGN WEEK
During Shanghai Design Week in 2014, Kristjana collaborated with world leading German high fidelity audio company, Sennheiser to create an interactive exhibition, taking visitors on an audio tour through a bamboo forest. As they moved around the 'forest', sensors triggered natural, soothing sounds, as if walking though a real-life forest.
FLYING SCUPTURES
Suspended overhead were hand-cut paper sculptures, draped in over sized traditional Chinese silk kimonos, printed with Kristjana's designs, as well as fantastical paper masks. This ethereal sound art installation was inspired by the landscape Kristjana passes over when she flies from her native Iceland to China.
MASK MAKING
The exhibition marked Kristjana's first attempt at mask making. Since Shanghai Design Week, Kristjana has hosted several mask making workshops, including one she held at Harrods while she had her Pop Up shop in 2017.
