The story behind the artwork

From the celestial maps of the past emerges a new kind of voyage - not across oceans, but through layers of imagination and rebirth. Each of these limited-edition 3D artworks reimagines the world as nature might have dreamed it: free from human constraint, abundant with reinvention, and alive with silent motion.

At the heart of each composition, a heroic creature stands as custodian of its realm. The giraffe, gentle sentinel of the canopy, stretches skyward through a kaleidoscope of foliage, surveying a horizon washed in soft, otherworldly hues.

Each scene unfolds upon the fragile bones of a vintage map, resurrected into sculptural form. Digitally designed, hand-sculpted, and delicately pinned, the layers of cut paper rise like continents emerging from the sea - intricate, shifting, and alive. Shadows move across the surface as light changes, echoing the passage of time and the turning of the Earth itself.

Artwork Details

Bespoke Hand and laser cut paper collage. Digitally designed, hand sculpted paper elements are painstakingly pinned in place onto a thick foam board, creating a stunning three dimensional effect. Each artwork is made to order and will be completely unique, but within the overall theme as illustrated in the artwork photography.
