The London Skyline – Kettir og Kóngar - 3D Artwork

The story behind the artwork

A reimagining of London as you’ve never seen it — brought to life in sculptural form. This 3D edition of The London Skyline – Kettir og Kóngar transforms the original print’s rich narrative into a layered, tactile world that rises from the map beneath it. Each element, meticulously hand-cut and pinned, casts its own soft shadow — the pulse of the city made visible in light and depth.

Here, London reveals its many faces: the flicker of Pall Mall’s first gas lamps, the hum of the Piccadilly Line’s 1906 debut, and the quiet glow of Battersea Power Station standing proud as an ember of industry. The Royal Albert Hall shimmers in its Victorian grandeur, Big Ben keeps steadfast time, and Mary Poppins drifts dreamlike above the rooftops. Cats — playful, regal, and ever watchful — wander among the landmarks, keeping company with swans, sleuths, and London’s ghosts of legend.

In this three-dimensional incarnation, the city becomes a living collage — a fusion of history and imagination, wit and wonder. Layers of sculpted paper capture the architecture, the energy, and the eccentric charm that define the capital’s character. It is both a portrait and a celebration: London’s skyline reborn in depth and detail, eternally alive in the hands of its maker.
