The story behind the artwork

Inspired by Hendrik Voogd’s Italian Landscape with Umbrella Pines (1807), this hybrid dusk scene transforms the classical Roman grove into a theatre of fantastical movement. Under the warm, rust-lit sky, wings, blooms, and surreal botanical forms hover and entwine, while a carriage of curious wonders travels through the glowing forest floor. Voogd’s tranquil sunset composition remains visible beneath the flourishing fantasia, allowing the historic and the imagined to coexist in a single enchanted moment.

Printed in our studio in London on Matt Smooth Fine Art Cotton 300 gsm, using giclée inks to ensure you are able to enjoy your print for years to come. All prints come with a physical Certificate of Authenticity.
