The story behind the artwork

One of a limited series of 3D Original Artworks, designed exclusively for show at the 2021 Art Car Boot Fair. These exquisite mini pieces are set against the backdrop of Kristjana’s original and iconic London map artwork ‘Lundunah Kort’, the very first London map that Kristjana used to develop her eye catching and immersive collage based artwork.

Two stunning scarlet roses, in the fullest of bloom, immediately steal the eye in the corner of this unique London cityscape. The monochrome map of streets and lanes, facades and archways is brought to life by the glorious and eye popping colours of the natural world. Radiant butterflies and dalmatian-spotted dragonflies circle golden orchids and fushia-pink petals, while bedecked birds sit regally upon the snaking Thames, the lifeblood of this remarkable tableau.

Bespoke Hand and laser cut paper collage. Digitally designed, hand sculpted paper elements are painstakingly pinned in place onto a thick foam board, creating a stunning three dimensional effect.Utterly unique in its composition and to its owner, an original artwork is one of its kind and cannot be replicated. Your piece will be the only piece like it, anywhere in the world.
