The Explorers Voyage sculpture is a very unique piece that was created and sold at 'The Explorers' Voyage' Exhibition at the Paul Smith Ablermarle Store. Kristjanba is fascinated with the beauty of ships. She imagined the journey of the early women explorers (iBird and M.North) spending days and weeks on sea not really knowing if they where going to reach land again. For these women to break all of their expectation of staying at home knitting this ship celebrates the achievement of all of these travellers. The ship it self is beautiful it belonged previously in a museum in the Isle of Wright and was being sold on because of clear out. When Kristjana looks at these intricate models it feel that they are on par with the craftsmanship of the engravings, to work on them in 3D is equally rewarding.
