The story behind the artwork
Bounded boughs surrender to the playful creatures of wood and park land, weaving their summery trail through the labyrinthal canopy, and tripping over signs of human activity hidden in the flora. The elusive stag, king of the forest, stands sentinel below, while his adversary displays a jaunty London bowler from his lofty perch. A stealthy fox stalks a carapaced rabbit, his futile task an irresistible challenge in this magical copse. In aqua and pink, mossy green and burnished brown, flowers and fruits of the forest entice exquisite fauna of land and air. A honey bee drones at his nectar and gemmed ducks paddle in sticky sap, while a dog and cat play obliviously their game of domestic bliss. In the far reaches, a strigine owl, bejewelled and all knowing, sits in watch for the night moon.

Bespoke hand and laser cut paper collage. Digitally designed, hand-sculpted paper elements are painstakingly pinned in place onto a thick foam board, creating a stunning three dimensional effect.
