The story behind the artwork

A remarkable pair of Limited Edition artworks, originally conceived by Kristjana in private, during the first lockdown. These contemplative studies explore our complex minds, as well as the restorative effects of creativity and wellbeing.

The mind’s eye is at sea, driven on by a perpetually moving ship, a ship that is always searching, continually probing for paths untravelled, circumstances unexplored. The wanderings of the psyche. The heart and stomach, the harbingers of emotion, sit helplessly, caught in the sticky threads of weblike sails. A geometric puzzle pulls at the logical mind, while representations of the natural world, the giraffe and dragonfly, symbolise the sometimes long distance between the heart and head. Yet healing hands propel this ship forward, moving continually it on through the restorative waters to calmer and caring seas.

Printed in our studio in London on Matt Smooth Fine Art Cotton 300 gsm, using giclée inks to ensure you are able to enjoy your print for years to come. All prints come with a physical Certificate of Authenticity.

Edition of 75, signed and numbered by the artist.
